More Fun with Pansies

I really love the Burst of Spring collection from Heartfelt Creations. These little pansies are so fun to create with. For this project, I used a fun tutorial by Kim Rannells to make a cute little folio.....

I love the little teacup full of posies....it is just too sweet! I used Ranger Archival Dark Purple and Memento Lulu Lavender ink to color the pansies in the cup. The two at the bottom are actually cutouts from the paper collection. So easy to just cut out and shape with the 3-D Pansy Flower Shaping Mold. I colored the teacup with the Daffodil Delight dark and light Stampin' Blends from Stampin' Up and the two shades of the Old Olive Stampin' Blends for the leaves. I cut the lacy panel from the Diamonds and Lace die set from Heartfelt Creations and added Highland Heather organza ribbon from Stampin' Up's Sale-a-bration to the ends. I love how the colors of these two companies compliment each other. The folio opens up as a trifold album...…

The patterns on this paper are absolutely gorgeous!! It makes it so simple to beautifully showcase your photos. The top flap has a border of pansies and the bottom flap folds down to reveal the center.....

I used the Highland Heather ribbon to tie the center closed. And I used a strip from one of the sheets to cover the pocket on the inside of the bottom flap....

The center opens to reveal two fold-out side flaps. They fold like an accordion to offer more places for photos....

This is so easy to make! It uses no chipboard...just linen cardstock for the base and then the patterned paper layered on. But it is very sturdy and would be a great Mother's Day gift. I can see it done with baby themed paper for a baby shower or in a beautiful floral for a wedding shower. The possibilities are endless with this little gem! For the back I chose one of the many beautiful images on the paper that provide beauty without a lot of extra work....

I can also smell those pansies in the vase!! This collection is quickly becoming one of my favorites! I think the cover of this would also make a great card! Will definitely have to try that.
I hope this project has inspired you to make something today. Thanks for stopping by and letting me share with you...'til next time!

Flowering Dogwood Easter

I have been having so much fun with mini albums and folios lately that I haven't been doing many cards. So, I thought since Spring is on it's way, I would start thinking about Easter. The beautiful Flowering Dogwood collection from Heartfelt Creations is my "go to" for all things Easter. I decided rather than doing the traditional 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" card I would go a bit larger. This one is 5 x 7....

I cut the large image from the Eyelet Lace Frames die from a piece of gold foil cardstock and layered it onto a background piece of patterned paper. I stamped the branch and dove from the Flowering Dogwood & Doves Cling Stamp Set with Archival Jet Black ink on white cardstock. I used the Stack and Store Daubers to shade the dove with Memento Summer Sky ink. I colored the dogwood blossoms with daubers and Stampin' Up Pistachio Pudding ink and the leaves with Mossy Meadow ink. Then I cut the images out with the coordinating die set. I used the Deluxe Flower Shaping Kit to shape the flowers and add some dimension to the leaves and the dove. I bent the branch to spread it out and attached it above the church with Art Glitter Glue and let the branches hang free. I glued the flowers and leaves along the bottom after attaching the dove with a dimensional dot. I added some Lettuce Entertain You prills to the centers of the flowers.  I used one the sentiments from the collection and matted it with black and pistachio pudding cardstock then attached it with a dimensional. Once I had everything glued in place, I added clear Wink of Stella to the flowers, leaves, and the edges of the dove. It doesn't show up well in the photo but it is amazing in person.

I hope I have inspired you today to start your Easter projects and cards. I am so looking forward to spring and it's beauty! 'til next time.....

Gingham and Pansies

I just love the Gingham Gala paper collection in the Stampin Up Occasions catalog! They are perfect for spring projects. When I saw the Burst of Spring Collection from Heartfelt Creations, I knew I had to pair the two collections! I wanted to make something that was bright and sunny because this winter has been so gloomy.....so, I opted for a sweet little 6x6 mini album.....

I have been having so much fun with the intricate dies from Heartfelt Creations, it was just a "given" that they would be included. I cut the Lacy Diamond from white cardstock and used it as the base. I stamped the Petite Pansy Frame and cut it out with the die. I used Memento Lulu Lavender and Ranger Archival Dark Purple to sponge the flowers. I colored the leaves with the light and dark Old Olive Stampin' Up blends and colored the diamond frame with Daffodil Delight light and dark blends. They are amazing.....

On the inside, I used the Delicate Pansy Spray stamp and die to decorate the inside of the front and back covers. I used 4 different dies from Heartfelt Creations to create trims for the pockets and to create tuck spots for the fabulous panels from the Burst of Spring paper collection....on the first page I used the cute corner fan from the Frame a Card Leafy Borders Die collection...….

On the next pages, I used the gorgeous center section of the Ornate Pocket die set to make a swirly little tuck spot across the bottom corner, and on the pocket I added the trim from the Sweetheart Borders Die set to add a touch of "lace".....

I love the tuck spots because it gives the option of adding an extra photo or journaling in addition to mounting a photo on the page. And those panels in the Heartfelt Creations paper collections fit perfectly into the pockets.....also great for journaling on the back!

On the next pages, another pocket with the "lace" trim and four little adorable tuck corners using the little corner frame from the Album Tags & Accents die collection. These little corners are adorable on cards as well.....

When I got to the center, I wanted something that could be mirrored with elegance. Of course, the first thing that came to mind was the fantastic Ornate Pocket die....it is so versatile!! So, I cut 2 of them and used them as pockets for two photo mats. On the front of the mats, I cut the center square from 2 of the 6x6 panels from the Burst of Spring paper...…

LOVE the way they turned out!! For the rest of the book, I simply mirrored the first portion and worked my way to the back inside cover...….

I decorated it the opposite of the inside front cover. I love the pansy spray because it has two images that mirror each other which makes it super easy to use them to compliment the other. And no fussy cutting!!!! Yay!! The gingham paper comes in Highland Heather, Balmy Blue, Daffodil Delight, Grapefruit Grove, and Lemon Lime Twist....the perfect combination for all your spring projects! I plan to make a few more of these little albums with more fun themes!

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you enjoyed my project. Maybe it even inspires you to "think spring" and brightens up your day......'til next time...…

Graphic 45 Mother's Day Card

We are still on lockdown here in Michigan, so I have been digging into my stash of papers. I had planned to use the beautiful Time To Flouri...
