Getting Ready for Christmas!

I know it has been awhile since I posted, but life has just been crazy!!! I got moved to California in the latter part of September and have finally finished my classes for the semester :) So, now I can get down to business......

I held a 6x6 Scrapbook class and have some ladies ready to start a monthly class in January...can't wait!!! I have found so many awesome products to work with. It is going to be loads of fun putting together all of my ideas.

In the meantime, I am helping my mom decorate for Christmas and this is the first decoration that we hung up today.....

My sister-in-law had posted this on facebook and I couldn't resist giving it a try :) It was so easy! I added the scalloped circles to the center of mine and made a snowflake ornament using the Festive Flurries bundle from Stampin' Up on top. I followed the directions in the video on their website for the snowflake ornament kit they were selling. I found a sparkly bow to add and tied the candy canes together with curly ribbon......

A little tricky getting the ornaments that were scored into the circle and hot-glued in the center, but with a little patience it all worked out pretty well :) And if all else fails and it falls apart, at least we have some candy to eat....lol!!!

Lots more decorating to do and some time planned with friends and family over the next couple of weeks.....so, in case I don't make it back....I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas and I am looking forward to the coming year and sharing lots of fun ideas with you. 'Til next time.....

Happy Scrapping,

Laurie

A New Endeavor

I know it has been quite some time since I have posted and shared with you. Well, that will certainly change from this point on. After much soul searching, I have decided to leave Stampin' Up and make some changes in my business and my life.

Last month, I left Michigan and relocated (once again) to Southern California. With that, I decided to take a path in my business dedicated to preserving memories through scrapbooking and other fun ways to display those precious memories. Since Stampin' Up no longer offers a product line for scrapbooking that includes albums and kits, I decided to explore other options. Through my search, it has become clear to me that I don't need to belong to any direct-selling company at all. There are soooo many places that I can get the supplies I need to offer wonderful classes! And I am so excited to get started.

I will be offering all of my classes as kits if you are not local to my area and the plan is to keep them very affordable for everyone. I can say there will be very little stamping but lots of fun accessories so you won't need anything that isn't in the kit or class except your own scissors and adhesive.

My first class will be online in a few weeks so I hope you come and visit. Thank you for being loyal and not giving up on me as I make these big changes. 'Til next time...................

Happy Scrapping,

Laurie

My Prayer Journal

It is such a great feeling to get back to stamping!!! It has been such a long time since I have just been able to sit down and play with some paper and ink :) I am finished with school until Fall and have lots of plans for projects over the summer. I will be a guest designer for an upcoming online event that you will NOT want to miss....watch for more details soon!

But, now onto the project at hand. I am not the original creator of this project, but have tweaked it a bit to make it more "my own." I am taking a very serious look at my prayer life and this journal is a wonderful tool in my endeavor:

The journal is made with the brand new "Epic Day This and That" journal that is in the new Stampin' Up catalog that goes live on May 31st!! I love it!! I admit that I was skeptical at first but once I got my hands on it, I was hooked.....have lots of ideas for this little treasure :) I already have another one ordered. This would be an awesome gift and I can think of so many people to make them for!

There are five pockets on the inside to keep little scraps of designer series paper for prayer requests. Each pocketed page has a tab that you can label with whatever  or whomever you pray for often. I plan to add a few more embellishments to "dress it up" a bit but I just couldn't wait to share it with you..lol!!

The first and the last pockets each hold two greeting cards that are ready to send out, except for the sentiment. I decided to wait to add that when I was ready to send the cards. You don't always know ahead of time what you are going to send one out for so I just put them together and will add that just before sending.

I am currently putting together a tutorial for this project and will offer a kit as well. If you are in the central Michigan area, there will be an in-person class option or you will able to purchase it long distance and receive a kit in the mail. I will have it up and ready right after Memorial Day so I hope you come back and check it out :)

I am really excited to start using this in my daily prayer time. I believe that having prayer requests recorded makes it so much easier to keep them constantly in our prayers. As I fill this one up I will be definitely be making another and another and another.....etc. This will get a lot of use!!

Well, once again, it is so good to be back and stamping!! The new catalog is coming soon and that is always such a fun time....lots of changes this year which will bring some challenges to some of the projects I had planned, but I have decided to face it head-on :) Looking forward to the new stamping year!! I hope you will join me :) 'Til next time...............

Happy Stamping,

Laurie

Graphic 45 Mother's Day Card

We are still on lockdown here in Michigan, so I have been digging into my stash of papers. I had planned to use the beautiful Time To Flouri...
